Directions:

From Boston:

Take I-93 South (Southeast Expressway) to Rt. 128 North/I-93 South combo, 3 miles to Exit 4 (Rt. 24). Take Rt. 24 South 18 miles to Exit 12 (Rt. 140). Take Rt. 140 South 19.4 miles to end. At the intersection at the end of Rt. 140 and Kempton Street, take a left onto Kempton Street (Rt. 6). Remain on Kempton Street for 1.4 miles and turn right onto County Street. The New Bedford Law Library is located in the New Bedford Superior Courthouse, Second Floor at 441 County Street which is .2 miles down on the right hand side of the road just before the intersection of County Street and Union Street.

From the North Shore and Northeast:

Take I-95 to Rt. 128 South to Exit 4 (Rt. 24). Take Rt. 24 South 18 miles to Exit 12 (Rt. 140). Follow the directions from Boston above from Rt. 140.

From West and Central:

Take Mass. Pike (I-90) to Exit 11A (I-495). Take I-495 South to Exit 7 (Rt. 24). Take Rt. 24 South for 6 miles to Exit 12 (Rt. 140). Follow the directions from Boston above from Rt. 140.

From Cape:

Take Bourne Bridge to Rt. 25 North to Exit 1 (I-195 W) towards Providence, RI/New Bedford. Take Exit 13A (Rt. 140 South) towards New Bedford. Follow the directions from Boston above from Rt. 140.

Accessibility:

There is a ramp into the building, but there is no elevator to the second floor, where the library is located. Given that, we are happy to do whatever we can to assist you, if you cannot obtain physical access to the library, including faxing materials to your home or office. Please let library staff know how we can best assist you in your research.
